Volunteer Program

The Hastings Police Department volunteer program was established in July 1995.   The program is a partnership between citizens and police, to capitalize community resources to accomplish necessary police tasks.  Approximately 20 active volunteers have worked with the Hastings Police Department during the past three years.   Volunteers have generally been retired persons, although anybody over the age of eighteen can volunteer.

Volunteers have assisted personnel with the filing of police records, building and vehicle maintenance, and assisting with the annual police auction.  Through their efforts, the efficiency of the staff has been greatly increased and a partnership between the police department and citizens has been created.

The police department is continually looking for additional volunteers.  If you are interested, call Captain Boner at 461-2380 or by e-mail.
