The Hastings Police Department utilizes special programs to
foster relationships with the public so we can work together to improve the quality of
life in our community. The youth of our community are our top priority. We have a
number of programs to reach our youth, including D.A.R.E.,
G.R.E.A.T., and the Explorer
Program. Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 is an
educational program to remind drivers to slow down in residential areas. The
School Safety
Teams, work closely with each of the schools in our
community to help develop school safety plans and have positive interactions
with youth in the schools
The department takes a proactive approach to preventing crime,
through Neighborhood Watch, public education, and business security audits. Contact
the department for more information about these programs. Also, crime
prevention information is posted online. Officers can also speak to your
group about any of the following topics, and more. Tours of the station or 911
Center are also available.

Citizens help serve the department through the Chaplain and Volunteer
programs.
The Hastings Police Foundation
provides financial support and assistance to a number of our special programs.
The first Tuesday of each August, we host National
Night Out at Heartwell Park.
