Special Programs

The Hastings Police Department utilizes special programs to foster relationships with the public so we can work together to improve the quality of life in our community.

The youth of our community are our top priority.  We have a number of programs to reach our youth, including D.A.R.E., G.R.E.A.T., and the Explorer ProgramKeep Kids Alive Drive 25 is an educational program to remind drivers to slow down in residential areas. The School Safety Teams, work closely with each of the schools in our community to help develop school safety plans and have positive interactions with youth in the schools

The department takes a proactive approach to preventing crime, through Neighborhood Watch, public education, and business security audits.  Contact the department for more information about these programs.  Also, crime prevention information is posted online.  Officers can also speak to your group about any of the following topics, and more.  Tours of the station or 911 Center are also available.
