The Hastings Police Department's D.A.R.E. Program wishes to thank the 30 businesses and groups that contributed to the D.A.R.E. Car Project!!

darecar1.JPG (16376 bytes)The D.A.R.E. Program has replaced its D.A.R.E. van with the D.A.R.E. car, a 1992 Chevy Lumina Z34, sold to the program at a reduced price by Kerr Chevrolet.

Many local businesses and service groups have partnered with the D.A.R.E. program to help purchase the car and equipment.  Beyke Signs donated the police and D.A.R.E. logos and signage.  Platte Valley Communications installed the radio equipment, and Ed Burmood and Butch Eley installed the emergency equipment, which was sold to the program at 1/2 price by Federal Signal CorporationSnow's Car Clinic donated a set of new tires.darecar3.JPG (17089 bytes)

The Hastings Optimist Club conducted a raffle to raise money for the project.  Club members and Clement's Bike Shop refinished a bike into a D.A.R.E. bike.

Aliant Communications, Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. of Hastings, F.O.P. Lodge #9, and Rader Insurance all made large cash donations.  The following businesses and organizations also all made cash donations to the project:  Thermo King, Gessford Machine, City National Bank, Werner Construction, Hastings Noon Rotary, Sealey Body Shop, Consolidated Concrete, Big G Stores, Ingersoll Dresser, Rural/Metro Medical Services, Insurance Plus, Sears of Hastings, Dana Corporation, Oakeson, Steiner & Lindsteadt, Linweld, Fidler Agency, Laura Schneider-State Farm, and.Klein Insurance.  Orthmann Photography donated professional photos of the car to present to other donors.  In addition, a cash donation was made in the Memory of Debbie Eley.
