Community Service Officers are an integral part of the police
department's operation. Community Service Officers are on duty seven (7)
days a week, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. They handle thousands of calls-
for-service, answer numerous questions concerning animals and laws that
pertain to them, enforce parking laws, and generally assist police
officers when needed. The activity and status of animals generate
many complaints. Though citizens call concerning those complaints,
almost all citizens insist that animals are treated humanely. The
Community Service Officers are dedicated to serving the needs of the
public while treating the animals with which they come in contact with
the utmost care.
